Ilahuya Muhindi, The Second Death of the Ancestors

THE SECOND DEATH OF THE ANCESTORS

In the heart of the night.

    Dark the earth is.

    Tu-tu-tu-tu

    Trembles the earth,

    Fup!Fup!Fup!

    Graves open.

    Haa! Haa! Haa!

    Laughs the happy ancestors.

    Bliss to breathe again.

    They shout

1st ancestor: Now comes the time,

    To explore the world.

    Hey! Look at that,

    What is it?

    Oh! a screen of pictures.

Let us go to see it.

2nd ancestor: A different world all together,

    People kissing each other.

Love making in front of kids,

    Ladies wearing handkerchiefs,

    Rather our silent graves.

3rd ancestor: No, better the night club,

    Let us visit.

2nd ancestor: Oh! No! What a dance!

    Rather our silent graves

3rd ancestors: Let us wait for dawn

    To explore the green world

The good men of the day,

And nice animals of the day,

2nd ancestors: Oh! No! I smell something,

    Look at the polluted rivers,

    The smelly polluted air,

    Let us see the people,

Hi! Talking to themselves as they walk.

    Men dressed like ladies

    Ladies dressed like men,

    Crimes of all sorts,

    Suicide our cure is.
