Joyce Yarrow

Joyce Yarrow

Like the poet-detective featured in her first novel, Ask the Dead, published by Martin Brown, Joyce Yarrow has a hyphenated professional identity. Ms. Yarrow is a poet and fiction writer, multimedia performance artist, and singer/songwriter.
Her early poems were published in Niobe Magazine in New York City (her place of origin) and in Ghost Dance (alongside Charles Bukowski, she’s proud to say). Joyce has performed with several jazz ensembles and recorded on the Pacific Arts and Soundbridge record labels. She currently performs with the world music vocal/percussion group, Abráce.
Four years ago Joyce made a commitment to writing fiction full time. Her short stories have been published in Whistling Shade Magazine, Inkwell (which nominated “Ring of Truth” for a Pushcart Prize) and descant 2007. Ms. Yarrow has also written several short stories distributed by the Discovery Channel as part of their media literacy curriculum.
