Mary Pomfret is an Australian writer with a particular interest in women’s writing. Mary has been published in a variety of literary magazines and is currently working on her novel Mother Superior’s Garden Party. She was born in Manchester U.K and migrated to Australia as a child. She spent much of her childhood on the island state of Tasmania and also lived for ten years in Alice Springs where she was married. Writing is in her blood. Recently, after sorting through her late father’s effects she found a large blue trunk full of his unpublished manuscripts. Mary feels strongly about issues which affect the lives of women, particularly migrant women. She now lives in the Australian gold-mining town of Bendigo with her husband and 16 year-old son.
