Naomi Hurtienne was born in Wisconsin and spent the better part of her youth hop-scotching around the United States. For the past decade she has found herself trapped in the depths of the Mississippi heat and has worked hard over the years to try to pin it down on paper. She has earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi and is currently working on completing her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science.
If she happens to find a moment to break away from her studies she can often be found buried in the written word her hand clasped around a glass of red wine. She has most recently been published in the Fall 2006 issue of Merge Poetry.
