Tara Prescott has worked as a medical writer, journalist, actress, poet, and college professor. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in 20th Century American Literature at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. She received her M.A. in Poetry from The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University and her B.A. in English Literature from UCLA.
Many of Tara’s poems are inspired by her travel experiences, particularly the year she spent studying Irish literature at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
Her poetry has been honored by The Atlantic Monthly, the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize, the May Merrill Miller Creative Writing Award, and the Mason Buck Memorial Award. Her poems have also appeared in Prism Review (University of La Verne), Confrontation (Long Island University), and Touchstone (Kansas State University).
