Louise Ostling Arsenio was born and raised in Sweden. She moved to Arkansas to attend University of Arkansas on a tennis scholarship, and then moved to El Paso where she received her MFA in creative writing while working as the assistant coach with the University of Texas at El Paso’s tennis team. She has published in Crossconnect, Ascent, Lifeboat, Parting Gifts, and elsewhere.
My new American coach Aengus picked me up from the airport last night, and Wendy will be the first teammate that I’ll meet.
“You’ll like her. Wendy is nice,” Aengus says.
I nod.
“She’s from southern Arkansas. She’s a typical southern, friendly girl,” Aengus says.
