tonight the moon wears your face & you sheltered me, two poems by Stephen Troyanovich

      tonight the moon wears

      your face

              for Elizabeth

Qu’un ciel bleu fumee ou la lune s’epongeait le front
Et l’enfant perdue qui marchait dans les etoiles.
            --- Robert Desnos

      you are here
      in the moonlight
      of my tumbling slumber.
      your warmth flows
      like a river
      covering my drifting sleep
      like a blanket of dream.
      i need you---
      melancholy and lost
      like a child---
      seeking forever
      the harbor of your arms
      to cradle me

      you sheltered me

              for Elizabeth

Je te cherche par dela l’attente
            Par dela moi-meme
Et je ne sais plus tant je t’aime
Lequel de nous deux est absent.
            --- Paul Eluard

      forever is your smile
      a fragrance of dreamlight
      like sheltering moonbeams
      your eyes probe
      my solitude
      between absence
      and desire…
      entangled
      in silence
      our hands share
      each other
      touching with one mouth…
      you are my warmth
      between womb and memory
      you are every tomorrow
      of my heart
