Nouri Gana was born and educated in Tunisia; he lived and studied in Canada and now lives and works in the United States. He prefers to see himself in part as an amateur poet and fiction writer. He published poetry and fiction in Postcolonial Text, EnterText, Tingis Magazine, and Global Comment.

From the jaws of Sabra & Shatila,
The sharks of Jenin, the hawks of Fallujah,
And the necro-remains of Rwanda and Darfour
I stitch them together, war after war
And weave myself adieus
